Who We Are

Chored is an AI-powered household coordination assistant accessible via SMS and a web dashboard at chored.ai. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean Chored.

Information We Collect

We collect the mobile phone numbers of family members added by a household administrator, along with household data you provide (chores, schedules, and car bookings). Inbound SMS message content is stored to process your request and generate a reply.

How We Use Your Information

Phone numbers are used solely to send and receive SMS messages related to your household. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only as required to deliver the service: Telnyx for SMS delivery, OpenAI for AI-generated responses, and Creem (our Merchant of Record) for payment processing. Creem receives only the information necessary to process your subscription payment — no household or SMS data is shared with Creem.

SMS Messaging — Opt-In & Opt-Out

By providing a phone number within the Chored web application, the account administrator confirms they have obtained consent from that number's owner to receive automated SMS messages from Chored. Messages may include chore assignments, schedule reminders, and household notifications.

To opt out: Reply STOP to any message at any time. You will receive one confirmation SMS and no further messages will be sent to that number.

Message frequency varies based on household activity (typically 1–10 messages per day). Message and data rates may apply.

Data Retention

Household data is retained for as long as the account is active. SMS message logs are automatically deleted after 90 days, and workout logs after 6 months. When you delete your account, your family and all associated data are erased.

Your Rights & Choices (United States)

Chored is intended for use in the United States. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about your household, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

Children's Privacy

Chored is designed for families and is set up and managed by a parent or guardian who acts as the account administrator. Any information about a child — such as their name, phone number, or chore activity — is provided and controlled by that adult, who is responsible for obtaining any necessary consent. Children do not create or manage accounts themselves. A parent or guardian may review or delete a child's information at any time from the dashboard or by contacting support@chored.ai.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored using Argon2 hashing. We do not store payment card data.
